What we have done in Ethiopia
- Trinity decided to adopt the Suri and Baale people of Ethiopia in October of 2002.
- Since then, we have sent 24 people to Ethiopia to serve and to learn.
- Approximately 100 people have committed to pray for the Suri people and our work in Ethiopia. They receive monthly updates for prayer.
- A member of Trinity constructed a beautiful display case for the Fellowship Hall and we put up new displays 6 times a year,
- VBS offering (over $1200) ? food for the Suri children
- VBS offering ? water projects (2005 ? amount?)
- Easter Offering 2003
- $7,000 for hunger relief for the Suri and over $17,000 for a truck for the Bryants.
- $3,000 for improvements on the guesthouse in Gatcheb. (This counts the roof and sofas.)
- $10,000/year for the Haspels? Suri Project (we recommended this to the missions committee, but I don?t know if they are doing it).
- Roughly $23,000 sent for AIDS ministry in Ethiopia (from two One Great Hour of Sharing offerings)
- $5,000 for the Synod?s building in Mizan.
- $13,250 ? for clean water in Ethiopia -- 9 spring cappings, 9 spring maintenance, 3 hand dug wells, 3 hand pump maintenance, and 3 Vi pit latrine constructions. We also sent $1,200 so that they could continue to employ their water expert this year.
- We have taken 100?s of pounds of books and over $500 worth of medicines to Ethiopia, besides other medical supplies.
- Support for the BSCO Office $3,000 in 2005 and $3,000 in 2006
- $5,000 to help expand the Bible School campus (multipurpose hall and library)
- $1500 for scholarships for the Bible School
- Made available at reduced prices study Bibles for the Bible School students ($1,000)
